Lore
Legend
The clearing was futile. Neither flame nor axe could stop this weed - the more we burnt, the faster it grew; the more we cut, the faster it spread. Those yearning for rest dared not to, for the ground would soon open and spiked roots would shoot upwards, shredding our humble camps, impaling the slow and exhausted. This hunt, the forest’s revenge, was no measure for stolen fruits. In flight, we climbed the Skybreaker mountain, at last feeling safe, for its snow covered tip had never before seen a single leaf. But regardless of the cold stone, the green pest sprawled after us, forcing existence to choose between compassion and menace: Man or Wood. |
