Lore

Legend

The smaller trees had fallen to the side like grass in a heavy storm, but something larger soon filled the plain. An overgrown, crooked mass of sinister wood, a small forest unto itself, pulled its way up the cliff, firing deadly volleys of razor-sharp leaves over our heads. Every step of its massive legs shook the earth, threatening to bring our fledgling attack to its knees. Far above, our archers peppered the creature with arrows, but they merely scratched its thick bark. It finally died, but in the cracks it had smashed into the frozen mountain, smaller trees found purchase. We climbed the modest elevation this mountain still offered, not in hope, but choosing the peak as our deathbed.
