General Changes
  • Campaign PvE scenarios will now only award gold for the first 60 minutes of playtime.
  • Added a new numeric notation for Battleground difficulty levels alongside their new difficulty names.
  • Added an experimental feature to save the current setting of Community Map filters.
    • The feature can only be enabled in the GUI section of the config file at Documents\BattleForge\config.json by setting community_map_filters_save to true.
  • Re-added the original cosmetic portraits alongside the new versions for players who had already completed milestones of the achievement A Need For Speed Achievement Icon A Need For Speed before this patch.

General Fixes
  • Fixed surrender notifications to again display the correct player name.
  • Added the legacy cosmetic portrait icon (legacy avatar) chosen at character creation to every player's inventory.
    • Players who had already spent gold to buy the portrait received a G Icon 15000 refund.
  • Fixed the rounding of the displayed remaining time for the Daily Boost.
  • Fixed an issue with the button of the Go to existing match...-pop-up.
  • Fixed issues related to quests disappearing and crashing the game upon finishing a match.
  • The 12-player scenarios Ascension Map 1 MinimapAscension Map 2 MinimapAscension Map 3 Minimap Ascension and Passage to Darkness Map 1 MinimapPassage to Darkness Map 2 MinimapPassage to Darkness Map 3 Minimap Passage to Darkness will now properly unlock when their required maps are completed.
  • PvP maps now properly handle non-player teams to allow for better creation of PvPvE maps.
Player Card Fixes

General Changes[]

  • Added buttons to Pause, Speed-up, and Slow-down the game speed in the Forge.
  • Adjusted achievements due to the removal of the Standard difficulty of Ascension Map 1 MinimapAscension Map 2 MinimapAscension Map 3 Minimap Ascension and Passage to Darkness Map 1 MinimapPassage to Darkness Map 2 MinimapPassage to Darkness Map 3 Minimap Passage to Darkness.
  • Added a description of the completed achievement to the achievement reward mail.
  • Added previews when hovering over the card and booster rewards of achievements.
  • The game session will now save the selected difficulty of each scenario until the game is restarted.
  • Adjusted the post-game reward window to always show a player's current rank and EXP Icon Experience earned.
    • Adjusted the icon for experience from XP Icon to EXP Icon.
    • Added a new icon for ELO ELO Icon.
  • Removed the post-game message "Maximum rank achieved" for those players who are PvE Rank Icon 20 PvE Rank 20 (Master of the Forge).
  • The networking library used for the client has been updated. Linux users will now need Wine 7.13 or higher to play the game.
    • The game should still work on Windows 7, but support has been discontinued.
    • These are the new recommended system requirements:
      • CPU: Core i3 7400T / Ryzen 3 1200 (X86 compatible)
      • RAM: at least 6GB
      • OS: Windows 10 or higher.
      • Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 / ATI Radeon HD 7770 (Direct X 11 compatible)
      • Disk Space: 14GB of free space.
  • Changed the artwork of the default loading screen to the 3rd Anniversary artwork (old: Loading Screen Skylords Reborn Nature's Awakening / new: Loading Screen Skylords Reborn 3rd Anniversary).

Campaign Loot Rework[]

  • Added G Icon Gold rewards over time to Campaign maps.
    • Increased the total amount of gold rewarded at all difficulty levels, even if compared to previously disenchanting all upgrades.
  • Single-player and multiplayer maps now grant the same rewards.
  • Added a difficulty-based percentage of the victory gold reward, as compensation when losing campaign maps:
    • Standard difficulty: 70% of the victory reward
    • Advanced difficulty: 40% of the victory reward
    • Expert difficulty: 25% of the victory reward
    • Gold on-loss cannot be earned unless at least 5 minutes have passed in-game.
  • Removed all former reward modes: Random, Need/Greed, and Assign.
  • Added a new Pick reward mode.
    • Upgrades are now decided on a per-player basis, with each player able to choose the upgrade(s) of their choice.
    • Expert and advanced difficulty reward 1 upgrade, while standard difficulty rewards 2 upgrades.
    • Disenchanting an upgrade now rewards the same gold regardless of the rarity of the upgrade, while also providing the player with PvE experience, depending on the upgrade level.

Tutorial Missions[]

Tutorial Missions

Tutorial Missions section with some progress.

  • Added a new section Tutorial Missions with 25 beginner-friendly achievements under the Rewards tab.
    • These missions are designed to help new and old players alike to discover basic game features, as well as many of the new functionalities the Skylords Reborn team has added since the game's revival.
    • Tutorial Missions are the new default opened section when opening the Rewards tab, but the default will revert back to Quests once all the missions are completed.
    • The progress tracking mission Graduation Ceremony Achievement Icon Graduation Ceremony is always shown on top, while underneath as long as there are still unfinished Tutorial Missions available, the next three will be displayed above already completed ones.
    • Tutorial missions can already be completed while they are invisible, but will not reward the player until they are displayed.
    • Listed below are all missions in the order they unlock.

  • Increased the average damage dealt over 20 seconds from 540 to 660.

    • Now each time the damage threshold to refresh the poison is reached, the poison's damage increases by 10 for the next 5 seconds, stacking up to 5 times for a maximum of 90 / 92 / 95 / 95 damage per second.
      • If the poison is not constantly refreshed the bonus damage resets.
    • Now instantly applies the first instance of poison damage to fix the issue where the poison would deal one damage instance too little throughout its duration.

      • Increased the activation cost from 0 power to 50 power.
      • Increased maximum number of affected hostile targets from 1 to 5 units.
      • Changed targeting from manual selection to nearest units within 30m.
      • Removed the caster's 50% damage reduction while the tether lasts.
      • Added 55 healing per second per target to the caster while the tether lasts.
        • This regeneration can revive dead squad members.
      • Added a new effect, that causes affected units if they die while tethered, to return 12% of the current void power of the player owning the caster to their actual power pool.
      • Added an immunity for 20 seconds against the effects of Card Icon Godspell Affinity Nature Gifted Bond / Card Icon Godspell Affinity Shadow Tainted Bond to affected targets after their tether is broken.
  • Removed the active ability Lost Banestone Underworld Gate Ability Icon Underworld Gate:
    • Former activation cost: 50 power.
    • Former description: Activate to partially draw the targeted hostile unit into the in-between. The target will be paralyzed and cannot be attacked by other units. While caught in the in-between the target will remain in its current state: the duration of Freeze and similar debuffs is prolonged while in this state. The affected player may no longer play out any more cards of same card as long as either the target unit lives or Banestone are still standing. Reusable every 60 seconds.
  • Added a new active ability Lost Banestone Blessed Underworld Gate Ability Icon Blessed Underworld Gate:
    • Activation cost: 50 power.
    • Activate to curse the targeted enemy unit. Every second the targeted unit will lose 70 life points. Additionally, if the target dies, Lost Banestone is fully repaired and a Lost Shade revenant with an affinity toward Frost will spawn out of its corpse with a lifetime of 25 seconds. Lasts for 20 seconds. Reusable every 40 seconds.
  • Removed the passive ability Card Icon Passive Affinity Frost Blessed Glacial:
    • The building is surrounded by an icy aura. The duration of every friendly Ice Shields within a 25m radius is extended by the continuance of this spell.
  • Added a new passive ability Lost Banestone Everlasting Ability Icon Everlasting:
    • The area around the building exists partially in the in-between. The duration of every friendly revenant within a 30m radius is extended indefinitely by the continuance of this spell.
  • Changed the card's affinity from Affinity Orb Nature Nature to Affinity Orb Shadow Shadow.
  • Removed the active ability Lost Banestone Underworld Gate Ability Icon Underworld Gate:
    • Former activation cost: 50 power.
    • Former description: Activate to partially draw the targeted hostile unit into the in-between. The target will be paralyzed and cannot be attacked by other units. While caught in the in-between the target will remain in its current state: the duration of Freeze and similar debuffs is prolonged while in this state. The affected player may no longer play out any more cards of same card as long as either the target unit lives or Banestone are still standing. Reusable every 60 seconds.

Additionally, if the target dies, it explodes dealing 300 damage to every enemy in a 15m radius and a Lost Shade revenant with an affinity toward Shadow will spawn out of its corpse with a lifetime of 25 seconds. Knocks back small units. Lasts for 20 seconds. Reusable every 40 seconds.
  • Removed the passive ability Card Icon Passive Affinity Nature Gifted Glacial:
    • The building is surrounded by icy aura. Each friendly Ice Shield within a 25m radius restores 25 life points per second.
  • Added a new passive ability Lost Banestone Everlasting Ability Icon Everlasting:
    • The area around the building exists partially in the in-between. The duration of every friendly revenant within a 30m radius is extended indefinitely by the continuance of this spell.
  • Decreased the card's power cost from 150 to 140 power.
  • Active ability Lost Reaver Infused Mob Ability Icon Infused Mob / Lost Reaver Tainted Mob Ability Icon Tainted Mob:
    • Increased the activation cost of gathered life points from corpses from 1500 to 2000.
    • Changed affected targets by the explosion from hostile and friendly units to only hostile units.
  • Passive ability Card Icon Passive Corpse Gathering:
    • Increased the maximum life points that can be stored in total from 1500 to 2000.
  • Passive ability Card Icon Passive Affinity Shadow Tainted Union:
    • Removed the passive effect when being surrounded by at least 2 other Lost Shade Card Icon Lost Shades, that hostile units attacking with melee attacks take 100% of damage dealt.
    • Added a new passive effect when being surrounded by at least 2 other Lost Shade Card Icon Lost Shades, that the unit will take 15% more damage, but its Card Icon Autocast Acherontic Jet will instead deal 61 / 61 / 61 / 68 damage per second.
  • Decreased the card's power cost from 240 to 230 power.
  • Decreased the unit's life points from 3080 / 3245 / 3570 / 3930 to 2780 / 2945 / 3270 / 3630.

    • Decreased splash damage radius from 15m to 10m.
    • Removed knockback against S- and M-sized units.

  • Active ability Lost Spirit Ship Infused Crystal Ability Icon Infused Crystal:
    • Removed the passive effect of the crystal that friendly units summoned within a 25m radius are not dazed.
    • Removed the passive effect of the crystal that it emits an energy wave each second that deals 250 / 300 / 300 / 300 damage to enemies in a 25m radius, up to 810 / 900 / 900 / 900 in total.
    • Added a new passive effect to the crystal that Lost Souls units within a 25m radius move 40% faster.
    • Lasts on affected units for 5 seconds after they leave the aura.
    • Improved description to be more consistent.
