Patch Overview
This patch went live on 19 May 2023 and is the eighth patch that contains major balancing changes.[1]
General Changes[]
- Added new features to the Community Map window:
- Featured Maps: Members of Skylords Reborn staff can now highlight maps with a
star icon to be featured for achievement progression. Officialcommunity maps like PvP spectator maps are highlighted with the
Skylords Reborn logo. - Voting: Player can now
or
Upvotea map. Upvotes will be shown publicly, while downvotes are just for personal tracking. Voting for a map is enabled after attempting a map once.
downvote - Filters: Players can now filter between map types, maximum number of players, and map ratings.
- Sorting: Players can now sort displayed maps by map name, maximum number of players, upvotes, and last edited. For each sorting option, there is an ascending or descending sort order.
- Featured Maps: Members of Skylords Reborn staff can now highlight maps with a

overtime gold rewards. Featured community maps now also count towards daily quests and certain achievements. - Players can now pause PvE matches when they are the only active player in the game, including scenarios where multiple players were previously active in the match but have since left.
- The game automatically pauses when the options menu is opened and continues when the menu is closed. Players will still be able to earn progress towards quests and achievements when pausing, but any game where a pause occurred will not be eligible for the PvE Leaderboard.
- The feature can be disabled in the application section of the config file at
Documents\BattleForge\config.jsonby setting allow_pausing_solo_games tofalse.

- Gold rewards for RPvE matches have been changed.
- Random PvE now rewards players with overtime gold rewards based on map difficulty and whether they are playing 1p, 2p, or 4p.
- Gold earned from a 4p level 9 match will be roughly identical, while the gold reward for most other levels has been increased.
- 1p and 2p rPvE matches now reward significantly more gold than previously.
- All rPvE matches now reward 15% of the expected rewards on loss.
- The gold cost to purchase and apply upgrades has been restructured.
- Previously, the application cost accounted for 28% of the total gold cost; it has now been increased to 40% while the cost to purchase upgrades has been decreased proportionately.
- Common and uncommon cards now have higher gold costs, while rare and ultra-rare cards have lower gold costs. The total cost to purchase and apply all upgrades, approximately 5.7 million gold for all cards, remains unchanged.
- Card upgrade drop locations can now be accessed in the Claim Upgrades tab of the Card Upgrades window.
- Each map now has a Show Upgrades button where players can sort, filter, and search for what upgrades the map provides at each difficulty level.
- The majority of the card upgrade drop locations have been reassigned to balance the rarity distribution of cards across all non-12-player maps.
- 12-player maps remain unchanged and still only provide gold.
- A full list of the former and new locations is provided in the table below.
- Added the option to compare achievement progression with other players by opening up the new Profile Comparison window.
- By default, only players added to the own friend list can view one's profile.
- In the options menu, the profile visibility can be further opened up or restricted.
- Gold Chests can now be opened while in combat.
- Changed the right-click context menu from always showing all actions, but greyed out to only showing available actions.
- Players can now copy any text from Forge and in-game chat via the right-click context menu.
- In the same way, valid deck codes can now be automatically imported.
- The in-game global effects display in the top left corner can now show more than 5 effects at the same time.
- Temporary effects take precedence over permanent effects.

Outsourced Content, which requires winning 8 unique featured community PvE scenarios on expert difficulty to unlock the new cosmetic forge theme
