Notes & Strategies
Eruption is very powerful yet also costly. Smart usage of this spell is key to making the most of what it has to offer.
This spell is most commonly used to "Pop" an injured target whos life points are less than/or equal to 300, enabling Eruption to instantly slay the target, something very important in Player vs Player (PvP).
Campaign PvE
Eruption is effective for applying burst damage to early-game opponents such as the Bandit Footmen, Twilight Archers, and File:Stonekin Shards Entity Icon.png Stonekin Shards.
Due to the spells above-average price, it is best saved for times when needed to avoid wasting power.
Random PvE
Eruption serves similar uses in Random PvE as in Campaign PvE. However, in RPvE this spell fulfills an essential role of popping spawn buildings to prevent waves being spawned.
This is typically to save time and increase the odds of victory early on.
PvP
Eruption is an essential asset in Fire T1 gameplay, and is rare to not see ran by any skylord taking fire into the fray.
Strengths
- Offers strong zoning potential due to instantaneous results, and small knockback.
Eruptions potential damage output is enough to make many a skylord wary of the territory you control. Many early game forces cannot maintain an offensive after being hit by this spell.
- Can directly counter in most cases by lowering the targets hitpoints.
is another spell critical to a Shadow skylords early-game. Eruption allows a fire user to weaken the spells effectiveness through damaging the target intended to self-destruct, as the spell uses hitpoints to amplify the damage.
- Eruption provides immense choke dominance early-game.
Due to the nature of this spell, it is common knowledge that Eruption offers total control over tight choke points. Enemy creatures running through will have no means to evade the blast.
- Eruption can pop power wells and certain power move creatures at crucial moments.
Tricky to pull off yet very rewarding. A well-timed Eruption can very easily destroy a crippled well before it can be repaired, or kill a tough creature before it can be healed or escape.
Weaknesses
- Eruption requires damaging at least two targets to pay off its cost.
Due to its range of damage, one must be hitting at least two targets to make Eruption effective in most cases.
- Eruption can be very easily nullified by healing effects and damage reduction.
Eruption is strong, but spells like
and damage reduction from cards like will severely weaken the effectiveness of this card.- Eruption is only effective against T1 creatures.
For its strengths, Eruption only truly excels in T1. If your opponent goes T2, this spell becomes almost useless.
