Economy in BattleForge isn't like most RTS games.

Currency

BattleForge Points (BFP)

BattleForge Points (abbreviated as BFP) is one of two currencies in BFReborn. You wont be able to to buy this currency with real money any more, in Skylords Reborn, you will have to earn it through playing the game. BattleForge Points are used to buy Boosters and for trading Cards with other players.

BattleForge points can be acquired by:

  • Selling cards for BFPs in the Marketplace.
  • Trading cards or Gold with other players for BFP.
  • Buying them using actual money. (This will not be present in Skylords Reborn)
  • You could get 2 BFP for free just for playing BattleForge 15 minutes in total per day. This amount has yet to be determined in Skylords Reborn.

Other Information

BattleForge Points are not to be confused with Battle Tokens, which are earned from Ranked PvP matches, the Battlegrounds (often called Random PvE or rPvE for short), and through the use of the Element of Conversion at the end of normal PvE scenarios; and are used to claim Upgrades.

Gold

Gold was a form of tradable currency in old Battleforge used for miscellaneous activities in the Forge. Gold sending through mail will be no longer supported in Skylords Reborn. Gold is earned by finding and opening gold chests in PvE scenarios and completing both PvE and PvP matches.

Gold is currently used for four things:

  • Sending Mail which costs 1 gold.
  • Posting Auctions which costs from 1 to 60 gold, depending on card's rarity and auction duration.
  • Upgrading cards which costs between 50 and 6000 gold, depending on the card's rarity and the level of upgrade.
  • Buying upgrade cards which the cost is yet to be released by the Administrators of Skylords Reborn.

Gold helps prevent Mail spamming and mass-reselling in the Auction House.

Marketplace

Auction House (AH)

In the Auction House (abbreviated as AH), players can sell and auction their cards, to other players.

Everyone can establish their own prices and decide, if such a price, is worth the card.

The Currency used in the Auction House, are BattleForge Points. It also costs Gold in order to place a card up for auction.

Players can pick to either Buyout a card (pay the full price for the card and buy it out right) or they can bid for a card (other players can bid against you) and the player with the highest bid at the end of the auction duration gets the card.

Plays can pick to put a card onto the Auction House for a duration of long (24 hours), medium (8 hours) or short (2 hours).

Boosters

Like any Trading Card Game, a Booster, aka Booster Pack, is the package of cards that can be purchased. Players buy boosters to boost, or add new cards to their collection.

Originally Tomes could be purchased that contained 6 Booster Packs, that could be opened and added you your collection. But this feature was later removed and now can only be used for a limited duration, after they expire you loose the cards all together.

General information

In old BattleForge, players bought cards from the Marketplace window in the BattleForge game client. A booster cost 450 BFpoints. Simple random cards cost 2 B points. Once purchased, unopened booster packs are placed in the player's Inventory window.

To add the cards to their general collection, the player opens the booster. Alternatively, the player can create a tome collection with six unopened boosters. To do this, players must create a new deck and select Tome deck. At this point, they must click the Register Tome Collection button. A new window opens that allows the player can assign unopened boosters into the tome collection.

Booster Price Skylords Reborn It is currently not know how much booster packs will cost in Skylords Reborn. It is also not currently known the % for common, uncommon, rare and ultra rare cards in booster packs.

Trivia

When BattleForge went live, players could auction and purchase boosters from other players. However, this ability was removed in the first patch.

Trading

There is three ways to trade in BattleFogre. Using the auction house, direct trading or trading by the mail system.

Direct Trading

Players are able to trade cards directly with players, besides in the Auction House. This works, by right-clicking on a players name, and selecting invite to trade. Both players, can show each other which "non-upgraded" cards they want to trade, and try to get to an agreement, then they can lock, and accept the trade. There also might be an option, in a further update, after the Skylords Reborn release, which gives the opportunity, to trade BattleForge Points, Gold and Boosters.

Trading by Mail

Players are also able to trade cards by the mail system. In the old BattleForge you could trade Gold by mail, however in Skylords Reborn this will be disabled to try and prevent multi-accounting.
